Not a day passes at the Light that we don’t receive a prayer request from a listener journeying through one of life’s storms. They might be traveling the road of separation or divorce, the death of a loved one, serious illness of a beloved friend or family member, wayward child, job loss, betrayal, and the list is virtually limitless. In any scenario, they are writing to ask us to pray or to share how the station has been a light to them in the current dark situation.
Cheryl shared the following with us recently:
I just wanted to share with you how much the Casting Crowns’ song, Praise You in the Storm, means to me.
I lost a daughter in 1999, as the result of an auto accident. I currently minister to other friends, acquaintances, or even complete strangers through the mailing of grief booklets I purchase, that helped me so much during my own grief process.
In addition to the booklets, I also purchase a copy of Praise You in the Storm to include in the packet. The words in this song touch my heart, especially the words, ‘my strength is almost gone, how can I carry on if I can’t find you?’ The lyrics tell me that no matter what we’re going through, He is there! Sometimes we barely hear Him, but God is still there. ‘Every tear I cry, You hold in Your hands’…awesome words, comforting words.
Thanks be to God for the Light! The songs and messages have encouraged and uplifted me just when encouragement was exactly what I needed!
WOW! Can you see the power of God in Cheryl’s life? Even following the death of her own daughter, God used the ministry of the Light to bring her encouragement so that she, in turn, could comfort others in a very tangible way!
This type of ministry wouldn’t exist at the Light without our faithful givers and prayer partners. Would you consider joining us in encouraging even more people like Cheryl? To learn more, simple click HERE!
